“Happiest Season”

The stretch of Butler Street in the heart of Central Lawrenceville has become a frequent co-star in Pittsburgh-made productions, whether it’s standing in for Brooklyn — as it did in another recent streaming feature, “An American Pickle” — or just showing off Pittsburgh’s modern charms.

In this enjoyable 2020 holiday comedy, friends Abby (Kristen Stewart, returning to Pittsburgh after filming “Adventureland” here a decade earlier) and John (Dan Levy) stroll down Butler, talking about what everyone talks about in a romcom: Juicy relationship drama. The “Happiest Season” cast also included Mackenzie Davis, Mary Steenburgen, Alison Brie and Aubrey Plaza; rumor has it several cast members were devotees of Pittsburgh’s ScareHouse, visiting several times during production.

Happiest Season” is available on Hulu.
