If you’re a “death before decaf” kind of person, October is the perfect month for Pittsburgh Coffee Week

From Oct. 13-19, local coffee shops, roasters and affiliated organizations celebrate the city’s caffeine scene by hosting classes, tastings, game nights, pet-friendly meet-ups and other activities.

Now in its 10th year, Pittsburgh Coffee Week is a great way for folks to explore new spots and support their favorites, such as La Prima Espresso Co., which is marking its 36th anniversary in 2024.

James Cafe

Kick-off the festivities with your four-legged friend at James Cafe in the Strip District on Oct. 13 to try single-origin sips or house blends while your pal has a puppuccino.

Dragon’s Roast Cafe

Dragon’s Roast Cafe, located inside a West View gaming store, will waive its regular table fee on Oct. 14 for thirsty patrons who want to play.

Field Day

On Oct. 18, get down on the roof at Field Day in Lawrenceville. Sip boozy coffee and tea beverages while a local DJ spins.

De Fer Coffee & Tea

At De Fer Coffee & Tea in the Strip on Oct. 18, there will be a Coffee Cocktail Competition showcasing a local distilled spirit.

Ghost Coffee Collab

Bloomfield’s Trace Brewing, which just opened a location in Uptown that doubles as Ghost Coffee Collab’s HQ, will throw a Pour Over Festival with a variety of shops and roasters setting up to serve their coffee pour-over style.
