About Top Dentists
Our Top Dentists list, conducted by Professional Research Services Co. of Troy, Michigan, is run through a peer-review survey. All practicing and active dentists in Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties in Pennsylvania were able to log on and vote for their peers. They were not able to vote for themselves. A postcard about voting was mailed to each dentist licensed within the area when voting opened, and weekly emails about voting were sent out to those dentists for whom we had an email on file. Voting was open for eight weeks. The dentists with the most votes within their specialties were those chosen as Top Dentists for 2026.
The finalized Top Dentist list has two layers of fact checking. It was checked first with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State Board of Dentistry, ensuring all nominees have active and practicing licenses with no current legal infractions or issues. Then each name was fact checked with online research as well as some individual phone calls verifying names, specialties, credentials and practice information.
