These Pittsburgh Restaurants Are Open Christmas Day

Whitfield, inside Ace Hotel Pittsburgh, will be open for Christmas Day for both brunch and dinner, as well as for bar service. While brunch will offer the typical house menu, Executive Chef Beth Zozula is whipping up a three-course, prix-fixe menu for Christmas dinner for $45 per person. Rib roast served with red wine jus and horseradish sauce with whipped potatoes and Brussels sprouts will be the center of the classic holiday meal. Spirits & Tales
Spirits & Tales, inside the Oaklander Hotel, will be open for its regular service hours for brunch, lunch and dinner on Christmas Day. Executive Chef Jessica Lewis will roll out her new winter dinner menu, as well as a few Christmas specials such as fried oysters with trout roe and paprika remoulade and sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce and lime creme fraiche. 5130 Bigelow Blvd., Oakland; 412/297-4080,

The Commoner
The Commoner, part of Hotel Monaco, will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Christmas Day with its regular menus. Executive Chef David Racicot is also offering a four-course prix-fixe option for $45 per person. The menu will feature rosemary salt-crusted prime rib with bone marrow sauce with truffled mac and cheese, sweet & sour fried Brussels sprouts, creamed pearl onions and yorkshire pudding. The Terrace Room
Inside the Omni William Penn Hotel, The Terrace Room will host a Christmas Day prix-fixe brunch from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $55 for adults and $27 for children. Brick Shop
Brick Shop, the downstairs restaurant at TRYP Hotel, will be offering a prixe-fixe menu on Christmas Day for $48 per person. The menu will offer a choice of honey baked ham or prime rib with sides such as mashed potatoes, creamed greens and roasted carrots. The Grand Concourse and its bar, The Gandy Dancer, will be open on Christmas Day with special hours from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Located inside the preserved grandeur of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad Station, this venue is a popular choice for Pittsburghers celebrating holiday occasions.
