Pittsburgh Pet of the Week: Lakeland

This handsome man came to Pittsburgh from a shelter in Florida. Make an appointment to meet him at Animal Friends.

Lakeland

Breed: Hound, Irish Wolfhound/Hound  Sex: Male
Age: 2.2 years | Weight: 58 pounds
Arrived: May 28, 2021

Lakeland came to Animal Friends through a transfer with another shelter in Polk County Florida. He is heartworm positive. The dedicated medical team of Animal Friends is working with him through his treatment. If you decided that Lakeland is the dog for you, he would go home as a foster while he finished his treatments. Lakeland needs to learn some of his manners and is very sweet. He can go home with kids at least 13 years old.

Each of our dogs has received a thorough medical examination, is current on all appropriate vaccinations (including rabies) and has been microchipped and spayed or neutered.

Animal Friends is open for adoptions by appointment only, please email our Adoption team at AdoptionInfo@ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org to set up a time to visit.

Please read our adoption guidelines and start your application before coming to meet one of our dogs in person. A typical adoption can take up to an hour. Please visit at least one hour before closing if you plan to adopt that day.
