Some cats are content to admire you from across the room. Harry would much rather be right beside you.

This handsome 3-year-old tabby has been waiting for his forever home at Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) since late May, after arriving as a stray. Since then, he’s quickly become a favorite with the staff and volunteers who have gotten to know him—and it’s not hard to understand why.

Harry is a people cat through and through. He loves being near his favorite humans, whether that means curling up beside you for some quality cuddle time or showing off his playful side. His sweet personality, affectionate nature, and impossibly adorable face make him the kind of cat who can turn an ordinary day into a better one simply by being there.

While Harry has been enjoying the attention of his HARP friends, what he really wants is a person of his own. He’s ready for a home where he can settle into a comfortable routine, get plenty of affection, and be the beloved companion he was meant to be.

Harry does have a few health considerations, including being FIV-positive, that his HARP care team will discuss with potential adopters. FIV, or feline immunodeficiency virus, is a condition that can be managed with appropriate veterinary care. Because Harry is FIV-positive, he will need to be the only cat in his home or share his home with another FIV-positive cat. HARP’s team will make sure his adopter understands his needs and feels prepared to provide the care he deserves.

Being FIV-positive doesn’t change who Harry is: a loving, playful cat who enjoys companionship and has plenty of affection to give. His diagnosis is simply one part of his story, not the whole story.
