Pittsburgh Pet of the Week: Gator
This shy guy is looking for a new forever home. Make an appointment to meet him at Animal Friends.
Breed: Retriever, Labrador/Mix | Sex: Male
Age: 3.1 years | Weight: 47.9 pounds
Arrived: February 25, 2022
This shy guy was transferred to Animal Friends from a shelter in Maryland. Gator is heartworm positive and is looking for a home that will foster him while he undergoes treatment through our medical department and will then adopt him once his treatment is complete. He must be the only dog in the home while undergoing treatment.
Gator is rather fearful of new people and new situations, so he needs someone who will be patient and gentle to help him acclimate at his own pace. Because of his fear tendencies, Gator would do best in a calm, adult-only home.
Each of our dogs has received a thorough medical examination, is current on all appropriate vaccinations (including rabies) and has been microchipped and spayed or neutered.
Animal Friends is open for adoption by appointment only, please email our Adoption team at AdoptionInfo@ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org to set up a time to visit.
Please read our adoption guidelines and start your application before coming to meet one of our dogs in person. A typical adoption can take up to an hour. Please visit at least one hour before closing if you plan to adopt that day.
