Adoptable and Adorable: Pittsburgh Pet of the Week: Steeler

Steeler is a wonderful senior dog who is looking for his forever home. Make an appointment to meet him at Animal Friends.

Steeler Dog

Breed: Coonhound, English| Sex: Male
Age: 12.1 years | Weight: 72 pounds
Arrived: May 2, 2020

Steeler came to Animal Friends when his owner could no longer care for him. Though he is senior, he still likes to play with his toys, especially tennis balls. Steeler is currently undergoing treatment with the Animal Friends medical team. Due to this, he is available as a foster-to-adopt dog, so that he can continue to be monitored. Steeler would do well with children at least 13 years old. He can also be selective with other dogs.

Each of our dogs has received a thorough medical examination, is current on all appropriate vaccinations (including rabies) and has been microchipped and spayed or neutered.

Animal Friends is open for adoptions by appointment only, please email our Adoption team at AdoptionInfo@ThinkingOutsideTheCage.org to set up a time to visit.

Please read our adoption guidelines and start your application before coming to meet one of our dogs in person. A typical adoption can take up to an hour. Please visit at least one hour before closing if you plan to adopt that day.
