In 2018, Danielle S. McGinnis wanted greater flexibility and more time with her family. She transitioned out of a government career as she launched her first business, Clerical Edge LLC, a virtual assistant company focused on administrative and clerical support.
“As I worked with more clients, I quickly recognized a deeper strength in operations strategy and business systems,” she says.
McGinnis shifted her focus toward that realization and founded Cutting Edge Operations in 2020. There, she helps owners of online service-based businesses to eliminate inefficiencies, improve client experience and create systems that allow CEOs to operate without being buried in day-to-day tasks.
“My background allows me to see the full picture of a business—from systems and processes to team and client experience—and identify what needs to be improved for sustainable growth,” says McGinnis.
She says she also brings a level of understanding and empathy to her work because she knows firsthand what it’s like to start and grow a business. “I take a thoughtful, customized approach with every client, ensuring that the systems we build align with how they actually operate, rather than forcing them into rigid structures.”
McGinnis encourages women in business to trust themselves, “even when the path isn’t fully clear. When I started my business, I couldn’t have predicted where it would lead, but consistent action and a willingness to improve made all the difference,” she says.
Working with one of her earliest clients became one of the most meaningful highlights of McGinnis’s career. She helped the client scale her business from its beginning stages to seven figures and beyond. She says, “Continuing to support that client today is a full-circle moment and a testament to the long-term impact of strong operational strategy.”
In the future, McGinnis would like to expand Cutting Edge Operations into a full-service operations agency, including support for sales and marketing operations.
McGinnis’s life isn’t just about helping people grow their businesses, however. In her free time, she also helps people grow in their faith through a volunteer ministry that teaches the Bible and offers free home Bible studies.
