Meet Ralph!

Meet Ralph — a gentle soul with a story of resilience and heart. Ralph came to Animal Friends as a transfer from another shelter after being rescued from a home where seven dogs were living in difficult conditions. Having missed out on proper socialization, Ralph arrived shy and unsure of people — but he’s come a long way since then. With the help of our Behavior Team (and his favorite yellow ducky), Ralph has slowly started to discover that life can be filled with play, comfort, and kindness. Ralph is looking for a very special adopter — someone patient, understanding, and experienced with fearful or under socialized dogs, especially those from commercial breeding backgrounds.

He’ll thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with a fenced yard and a steady routine. While Ralph may never be a “typical” dog, with compassion and consistency, he can absolutely live a joyful, fulfilled life surrounded by love.

Ralph is part of our Foster-to-Adopt Program, giving his new family three weeks of hands-on support from our Behavior Team to help him transition at his own pace. He’s also a proud Rosie’s Rule dog, meaning he’ll go home with a GPS-enabled Fi Smart Collar to keep him safe and connected. Interested in this handsome pup? Please read our adoption guidelines and start your application before coming to meet one of our animals in person. A typical adoption can take up to an hour. Please visit at least one hour before closing if you plan to adopt that day.
