Combining her love for storytelling and numbers, Danielle DeWitt landed on a career in fundraising, sparking opportunities for her to join community efforts and inspire real change.

After moving to Pittsburgh in 2019 from Dayton, Ohio, DeWitt got involved in community service efforts around the city. She eventually joined 412 Food Rescue’s mission to prevent food waste and fight against food insecurity. Starting as a volunteer, DeWitt later joined 412 Food Rescue’s fundraising team and steadily advanced to become vice president of advancement.

She is inspired by the sense of community and connection fostered by the thousands who support the organization. She recently joined CCS Fundraising, a global firm that partners with nonprofits for transformational change.

DeWitt encourages anyone interested in community service to “focus on what lights you up and just show up,” as she believes that taking the first step is often the most important part.
