Women & Business Profile: Vicki Loucks
"Some days the load we carry as women in leadership can feel heavy."
Vicki Loucks, MSN, MBA
Redstone Presbyterian SeniorCare President & CEO
When Vicki Loucks began her career as a registered nurse in 1993, she never intended to work in post-acute care. She joined the staff of Redstone Presbyterian Seniorcare thinking she’d stay only long enough to find a “real” nursing job.
It turned out, however, that post-acute care is a real nursing job. “I quickly fell in love with the field and the impact I could have each day,” Loucks says.
She was so taken that she returned to school, balancing act that also included being a young wife and mother. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Carlow University and, later, a master’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in business from the University of Phoenix.
“That education helped shape my career path and my approach to leadership,” says Loucks.
After more than 30 years and a variety of roles, she rose to president and CEO in 2025. She has a lot to do: as the oldest Baby Boomers turn 80 this year, the need for both vibrant active adult communities and supportive care services continues to grow. About 500 seniors make their homes across several Redstone Independent living and personal care communities and, annually, 700 receive short-term rehabilitation care. In addition to its communities, Redstone offers home health, home care and hospice services.
Loucks says, “It’s a privilege to be part of their lives and to support older adults and their families throughout our region.”
Outside of Redstone, Loucks serves in a host of leadership roles. Among many others, she is the vice chair for the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce, a director for the Faith Affiliated Insurance Program and recently served as Chair of LeadingAge Pennsylvania.
Loucks was named a Pittsburgh Business Times Health Care Hero Lifetime Achievement finalist in 2015, and, in 2024, received the Westmoreland County ATHENA award.
She credits much of her success to having others’ support, and she encourages women to not give up. “Some days the load we carry as women in leadership can feel heavy,” Loucks says. “Remember to take time for self-care and give yourself grace.”
Vicki Loucks will be honored at the Women & Business Awards event on May 19. This vibrant evening features honoree spotlights, a keynote presentation, meaningful networking opportunities and support for an incredible local nonprofit partner.
