Bake magazine selects pair of local bakeries as finalists in national competition
Last February, we had the pleasure of spotlighting 20 area bakeries in “Creme de la Creme,” our cover story dedicated to all things sweet. But we’re especially glad when others take notice of the fine treats produced in Pittsburgh.
Bake magazine chose a half-dozen bakeries for its America’s Best Bakery contest, which wraps April 29 — and we’re proud to share that the beloved Oakmont and Kretchmar bakeries are included in the short list of national places; a crew from each spot was interviewed for The Baking Channel’s online “Discovering America’s Bakeries” series, and those clips are posted online for all to see.
The contest winner will be featured in Bake's June issue and on its site, too. Be sure to show your ’Burgh love by casting your vote today!
Root 174 and Savoy chefs team up for 'Good Taste' demos
Eat Street's a big fan of cooking demos, especially when some of our favorite chefs are behind the stovetop. Rumfish serves seafood & more
After ironing out some final details, Chet Garland and Paul Tebbets (of Toast! Kitchen & Wine Bar fame) finally opened the doors of their latest venture, Rumfish Grille, this week.
