Primanti’s Giving Free Sandwiches To Pens Fans Who Get Mullets

Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has just left the building … with a mullet and a cap-and-cheese!
Love Primanti Bros. and the Pittsburgh Penguins? Prove it by eating a sandwich and rockin’ hockey hair.
On Sunday, the team will retire Jaromír Jágr’s No. 68 jersey before hosting the Los Angeles Kings at PPG Paints Arena. To commemorate the Pens’ former right wing – who had a mullet when he played here from 1991 to 2001 – Sports Clips will give Kentucky Top Hat hairstyles to fans outside of Primanti’s Market Square location from 2 to 5 p.m.
In addition to a new ‘do, participants will get a free Primanti sandwich every week through the end of the Pens’ season, including the playoffs. Yinz can sign up online, n’at.
Want fries and slaw but not a Camero Cut? The eatery is offering a classic Primanti meal for 68 cents when you buy one at full price for dine-in or takeout on game day. That’s a good excuse to buy Sam a sandwich and get his dog one, too.
Jágr and his glorious Ape Drape helped the team win their first two Stanley Cup Championships in 1991 and 1992. Selected by Pittsburgh in the first round of the 1990 NHL Draft, he’ll join Michel Briere (21) and Mario Lemieux (66) – who also sported an exquisite Wisconsin Waterfall back in the day – as the only Penguins to have their numbers retired.
Forget about calling it a Mississippi Mud Flap or an El Camino Headrest — I’m hereby dubbing the mullet a Jag Shag.
