Local teacher Marc Fogel’s release from a Russian prison this week is cause for celebration — and cookies.

Oakmont Bakery created a sweet tribute to the neighborhood resident. The Home Sweet Home sugar cookies are iced in fondant buttercream and feature edible images of the “luckiest man on Earth. Priced at $2.50 each or $30 a dozen, they’ll be available Feb. 15-17. All of the proceeds will go to the Fogel family.

The local resident, 63, spent more than three years in Russian detention for carrying a small amount of prescribed medical cannabis.
