Have a Pie Before You Fly! Mineo’s Pizza Will Open a Space at Pittsburgh International Airport
The Squirrel Hill-based institution also has shops in Allison Park and Mt. Lebanon.
Mineo’s Pizza is coming in for a landing at Pittsburgh International Airport.
The local institution, which opened its first shop in Squirrel Hill in 1958, will start slinging four-cut, personal pies at the Airside Terminal food court this summer. Mineo’s also operates shops in Mt. Lebanon and Allison Park.
The new space, which also will sell beer, wine and spirits, is a partnership between Mineo’s and the existing Marathon Diner, a Mediterranean-infused eatery offering travelers everything from homestyle breakfast to gyros and soup.
With work in the airport’s new $1.57 billion terminal nearing completion, the energy is sky-high. In 2025, Wexford-based Café Conmigo will begin serving coffee to yinzers catching the red-eye. The state-of-the-art facility will also feature national brands such as Shake Shack.
Need a brew to ease your aviophobia? Beercode gastropub has lots of local offerings on tap. Other beloved ‘Burgh brands with an airport presence include Primanti Bros., Penn Brewery and Wigle Whiskey.
