Ceremony and Reception

This couple made their vows at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens (One Schenley Park, Oakland; 412/622-6914, phipps.conservatory.org) in a ceremony officiated by the groom’s brother. The party got started afterward at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum (4141 Fifth Ave., Oakland; 412/621-4253, soldiersandsailorshall.org). All the Best Catering (1000 Banksville Road #1, Pittsburgh; 412/341-0600, allthebestcatering.com) helped the couple execute a relaxed menu with entrée stations, including BBQ, pasta, and a Pittsburgh station laden with pierogies, halushki, kielbasa potato pancakes. After months of lessons at Arthur Murray Studios (multiple locations, arthurmurray.com), the couple wowed guests with graceful first dance as Mr. And Mrs. Curry.

Flowers

Florist Ken Milko always adds a few special touches (from Flowers in the Attic, 7505 Saltsburg Road, Penn Hills; 412/798-2200, flowersintheattic.com). For Meredith, he created garden-style hand-tied bouquet with peonies, hydrangeas, and roses from his turn-of-the-century garden. He saved the day when their cake topper was too big and created a beautiful ambiance in the reception room with large, wrought iron tree centerpieces adorned with flowers and candles.

Brian and his groomsmen wore black tuxes with vests. Men's Wearhouse (Multiple locations; 800/776-7848, menswearhouse.com).

Cake

Oakmont Bakery (531 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont; 412/826-1606, oakmontbakery.com) made a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and Italian butter cream frosting. They also contributed an impressive spread of cookies for the traditional Pittsburgh cookie table.

Music

The Currys enjoyed music from family friend harpist Lucy Scandril for the ceremony, and DJ Brooks Roy for the reception. When things started running behind, Brooks took charge and smoothly got the evening back on track (Both booked through Prostream Productions; 877/445-4644, prostream.org).
