Know-It-All: The Great Pittsburgh Book Crawl

A happy ending is in store with this interactive event.

Stories Like Me Bookshelf By Lirit Gilmore

Nine days. Thirty bookstores. One free passport with your name on it.

From July 18–26, The Great Pittsburgh Book Crawl turns the city and its neighborhoods into your personal library quest.

Grab a passport (free, while supplies last, at any participating shop), then start collecting stamps wherever you wander — Lawrenceville one afternoon, Squirrel Hill the next, maybe a detour to somewhere you’ve never been.

Go solo and make it a meditative pilgrimage. Drag your book club along and turn it into a competition. Pile the family in the car and call it “educational.” However you do it, every stamp gets you closer to a raffle prize — and the passport itself is basically a cheat sheet to every great indie bookstore in Pittsburgh that you didn’t know was just around the corner.

No purchase required for a stamp — but these shops are small, local and worth supporting. So if something catches your eye, let it come home with you.

Nine days. Thirty stores. Zero excuses.
