The Bus no longer has a restaurant on the North Shore. A tractor now occupies the 10,000-square-foot space.

Country superstar Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Bar opens March 22 in the former Jerome Bettis’ Grille 36 at 393 North Shore Drive. In addition to the venue’s centerpiece bar that features a vintage 4020 John Deere Tractor, there’s a live-music stage, a main dining area, two other bars, an outdoor patio and memorabilia from the singer’s career.

The menu of Southern comfort dishes — developed by chef Tomasz Wosiak, vice president of culinary development for TC Restaurant Groups — includes Aldean family recipes such as Jason’s Mac and Cheese and Grandma’s Pot Roast with braised beef, veggies, mashed potatoes and country gravy.

The Southern Nachos, which are actually kettle chips topped with pulled pork, smoked bacon, cheddar, queso, chives and Aldean’s own brand of bourbon barbecue sauce, look like an edible Jackson Pollock painting. You can also get a $79 “Tommy” Hawk Ribeye with grilled asparagus, loaded mashed potatoes and steak butter.

There are beers on draft and a full bar with specialty cocktails such as She’s Country (Bombay Sapphire, lime, sugar, blueberries and thyme) and Lights Come On (coffee liquor, Frangelico and cold brew coffee). I enjoyed a Jason’s Old Fashioned (Angel’s Envy, demerara, citrus and chamomile bitters) while listening to singer Julia Neville perform familiar country tunes. There will be live music or DJs on stage every day.

iHeartRadio has a studio inside the space where local country station Big 104.7 WPGB will broadcast “The Kasper Show” on weekday afternoons.

Aldean, whose hit songs include “Dirt Road Anthem,” “My Kind of Party” and “Big Green Tractor,” has namesake eateries in Nashville and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The parent company, TC Restaurant Group, also owns Tequila Cowboy, across the street from the new Jason Aldean’s location, on the North Shore.

“I love coming to Pittsburgh and the state of Pennsylvania to perform, some of the best country music fans in the world are in the area,” Aldean said in a press release. “I’m proud to have a permanent destination where fans can stay connected to my music, hear great country music any day of the week, and sit back and enjoy some of my favorite food and drinks. I can’t wait to get up there soon to celebrate with Pittsburgh. It’s going to be a great time.”

He’ll be performing live on Aug. 10 at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown.
