Do You Think You Have the Cutest Pet?

A new fundraising event at Animal Friends is giving folks the chance to show off their furry friends — and maybe win a prize in the process.

The organization’s Pet Pour-trait Contest invites pet parents to submit a photo of their fur baby, along with a $10 nomination donation. On your pet’s page, you can share what makes your pet one of a kind. Then, share your pet’s page and rally your supporters; entries receive one vote per every dollar donated, with a minimum donation requirement of $5.

All proceeds will benefit the shelter and help provide critical care, comfort and second chances for animals at the shelter and vet clinic. 

Three winners — those who receive the most votes — will see their pet featured on one of three local collaborations: A custom beer label from Acclamation Brewing, a specialty coffee roast from Compass Point Coffee or a signature frozen custard flavor from Glen’s Custard.

Want to spark a little friendly competition? 

When you enter, you can set a personal fundraising goal and encourage supporters to help you reach it. Organizers say it’s a fun way to boost your pet’s ranking while helping Animal Friends create more second chances for animals in the Pittsburgh community.

All entrants will be featured in the online Pet Pour-trait Gallery, shared across social media channels by Animal Friends and its contest partners.

Entries for the contest opened on July 17 and will close at 8 p.m. on Aug. 28. Winners will be announced on the contest website and on Animal Friends’ social media channels on Sept. 1.
