A New Bus Line is Offering Service in Pittsburgh
FlixBus has extended routes from Pittsburgh to Columbus, Ohio and Washington, D.C.
Pittsburgh travelers now have another transportation option to reach Columbus and Washington, D.C. — in the form of a bright green FlixBus.
The eco-friendly shared mobility service, which operates a fleet of buses in several routes throughout the United States and Europe, is expanding its routes this month. That expansion includes a Columbus — Pittsburgh — D.C. route, that began last month.
With the new routes, FlixBus joins the competition alongside the Greyhound Lines bus service, which operates similar routes to and from Columbus, Pittsburgh and D.C., and Megabus, which offers transit from Pittsburgh to D.C.. FlixBus also advertises competitive affordability as a draw — boasting ticket prices as low as $4.99 for certain routes.
FlixBus also offers “CO2 Compensation” tickets, in which passengers can opt to make a voluntary environmental contribution when booking tickets to offset the CO2 emissions from their journey. The cost is approximately 1-3% of your original ticket — a calculation based on the duration and distance of your chosen route. Every donation is invested in the National Forest Foundation along with a certified Global Climate Protection Project abroad.
FlixBus also offer passengers free WiFi, power outlets at each seat and extra legroom.
