2026 40 Under 40 Honoree: Rriccardy Volcy (39)
“I picture a 14-year-old arriving in the United States from Haiti with no idea this version of his life was available to him.”
Rriccardy Volcy
Engineer at Turner Construction
Since immigrating to the U.S. from Haiti at 14, Riccardy Volcy has been listening, learning and doing.
He first arrived in Pittsburgh to attend Carnegie Mellon University through a UDREAM Fellowship, a program that would be the foundation of his career within the city’s construction industry. He joined Turner Construction in 2022 as a Project Engineer specializing in large-scale aviation and laboratory projects. His work on the Pittsburgh International Airport Terminal Modernization Project is one of his most defining professional achievements.
Volcy has also served as the president of NOMA Pittsburgh, where he launched an initiative to grow the minority advocacy organization’s reach in helping young and aspiring architects. He was the leading QA/QC engineer for the Elevate Bio Pit Basecamp project in Hazelwood Green.
His childhood in Haiti changed the way he looks at waste and sustainability; he also says his journey helped him see what happens when a community recognizes and backs a young person’s potential, regardless of where they are from.
