Magisterial District Judge, Pennsylvania Judiciary
Magisterial District Judge Jehosha Wright has built his North Side courtroom around balance, dignity and practical problem solving. Elected to Allegheny County Magisterial District Court 05-2-40, Wright brought experience in behavioral health, community outreach and counseling to a role that often touches people at crisis points.
His district’s Lawyer of the Day program has become a signature example of that approach, connecting tenants and landlords with legal help before cases move to trial. Through that work, Wright has helped reduce evictions while preserving landlords’ ability to recover arrears and maintain relationships with tenants.
Wright’s court filings have successfully used continuances and rental-assistance connections to slow mass eviction filings.
Wright is now studying law at Duquesne University, with a long-term dream of helping more young, culturally competent Pittsburghers build meaningful careers in law and service locally.
