Our events roundup is like a box of chocolates; pick your favorite as a special surprise for your Valentine.
Valentine’s Day is a time for romance, chocolate — and binge watching the Bridget Jones Diary movies. But regardless of how you celebrate, love is in the air. Grab your partner, friends or family members and get ready to take part in these Pittsburgh events with heart.
Cupid Hits Its Target
Want to get hit with Cupid’s arrow? The Omni William Penn Hotel is bringing back the Cupid’s Corner pop-up bar at Mellon Square Coffee. Enjoy the hotel’s signature valentine-inspired cocktails such as Cupid’s Cosmo and Love on the Rocks.
If the stunning array of heart-shaped decorations doesn’t leave you in awe, the delightful pairings on the menu, such as Cupid’s Charcuterie and Love Bird Eggs, certainly will. The pop-up is open from 5 to 11p.m. every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday through Feb. 21.

Heart of Glass
Go on a hot date with the Pittsburgh Glass Center’s Date Night Make-It-Now event. Taking place from 5 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 13, loved ones can work with a local artist to transform molten glass into a heart-shaped paperweight, or to melt sheets granules and small rods of glass into a fused charcuterie plate.
No need to have a hungry heart; the Glass Center will provide small bites and cocktails once the hands-on studio time is over. Glassblowing and flame-working demonstrations also will take place throughout the night.

A New Ritual
Looking for a new Valentine’s Day ritual? Ritual House is sure to become your new tradition thanks to the Valentine’s specials taking place Feb 9 through Feb 17. Guests can toast to their Valentine with specialty cocktails such as the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Old Fashioned and the Be Mine & Cream. Festive Jell-O shots will also be offered in flavors such as Espresso Martini and Raspberry Lychee.

Ice, Ice, Baby
Now in its 20th year, the annual “Valentines on Ice” event taking place on Feb. 14 at Schenley Park Ice Skating Rink will get your heart beating. Besides ice skating, the event features activities such as a caricature artist and a selfie booth. Participants also are automatically entered to win raffle giveaways from local businesses and they will get to take home two holiday favorites — chocolate and flowers. Light refreshments will be served at the rink.
Family skate for the event takes place from 3 to 5 p.m. while the adult-only session is from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information, visit here.
Love Squares
Be there or be square! Square Cafe is temporarily expanding its menu in February. Order the East Liberty restaurant’s famous Red Velvet Pancakes topped with powdered sugar and house-made cream cheese icing; the customer favorite only hits the menu once a year.
Another beloved seasonal favorite, the Corned Beef Hash is made with diced corned beef hash and topped with an over-easy egg. Guests may also enjoy drink specials such as Raspberry White Mocha and Peach-Berry Bellini.

Run in Your Undies
This is the one time of the year when underwear is acceptable as outerwear.
Kicking off at McFadden’s Pub on the North Shore, Pittsburgh’s annual Cupid’s Undie Run takes place from 12 to 4 p.m. on Feb. 21. Every February, thousands of people across the U.S. come together to take part in Undie Runs, which support individuals affected by NF, a group of genetic conditions that cause tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. The event starts with drinks and jogging — and ends with a big dance party.
