Dancing Gnome Reopens Its Original Taproom as a Cocktail Bar
Nine T(w)o Five features boozy and NA-beverages, beer and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Let Dancing Gnome pour you a pint of ambition at Nine T(w)o Five.
The Sharpsburg spot where the brewery got its start in 2016 is back open from 5 p.m. to midnight Wednesday through Sunday.
Dancing Gnome operated out of 925 Main St. before debuting a new, 10,000-square-foot production facility a block away in 2021.
Owner Andrew Witchey says his team has been using the original traproom for yeast propagation and small-batch brewing, but he felt the time was right to reopen it to the masses as a “post-work haven.”
The space, which closed to the public in March 2020 due to the pandemic, got a refresh, but, Witchey insists, will still be recognizable to the legions of fans who’ve been drinking there from the start. They reconfigured the seating arrangements and upgraded the backbar for functionality to create a cozier, more comfortable environment.
Nine T(w)o Five features Dancing Gnome brews on tap, including the House Beer, a 4.8% ABV light lager that’s $4 a pint, two rotating guest taps, signature cocktails made with Pennsylvania-produced booze, wine and non-alcoholic options.
Longtime food partner Blue Sparrow helped Witchey and his team curate a menu of grilled cheese sandwiches, soups and small bites.
As Dolly Parton would say, “What a way to make a livin’!”
