The Square Cafe owner is opening Pittsburgh’s first women’s sports watch bar this February in East Liberty, adjacent to her beloved eatery.

Title 9, a reference to a federal law that gives women athletes the right to equal opportunity in sports in educational institutions that receive federal funds, will serve food and drink and will exclusively air women’s sports.

“I am passionate about women’s sports, and it’s been so amazing over the past few years to see these incredible athletes finally getting the viewership they deserve,” says Goldstein, who came up with the concept with a close group of friends. “We want to do what we can to grow here in our hometown and also support and connect with our collegiate and professional players in Pittsburgh. The goal is to make this not only a place to watch women’s sports, but to convene and grow the community.”

Located at 5997 Centre Ave., the space has a full bar, eight televisions, a rooftop bar area and garage windows that open to the street. Visitors can expect some Square Cafe crossovers on the menu (TOTS!), as well as fun twists on bar food, vegan and vegetarian options and cocktails, mocktails and local brews.

Sports fans can keep tabs on Title 9 pop-ups on the bar’s Instagram page.
