Growing up in a tough community as the middle child in a family with a dozen children, Donald Jones says he was automatically given a caring heart.

“It’s necessary for me to give more time to people who need guidance and help,” he says. “I made it out, why not help someone else make it out?”

The founder and CEO of Jones Maintenance Contractor has made it his mission to employ and encourage young men from low-income communities to follow their passion in the contracting field.

Since 2017, he has created nearly 300 employment opportunities in more than 15 communities. Jones also mentors ex-offenders, single fathers and young men through his “Build One Teach One” mentorship program.

“My dream is leaving my legacy for my son to finish what I started and do what I’m doing — changing lives, helping guys and boys make better life decisions, as citizens, not just at work.”
