For its 15th and final season, Fox’s “American Idol” is coming to Pittsburgh. Bus tour auditions for the singing competition will take place on Monday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Schenley Plaza. If you think you’ve got what it takes to become the next “Idol,” you can register onsite with two forms of ID and a completed personal release. If you’re younger than 18, you’ll also need to fill out a guardianship and medical authorization. Don’t forget to bring an umbrella — auditions are rain or shine.

For the bus tour, which is different from the live auditions, the show’s producers will scout out talent and decide which performers will advance in the competition. This tour will stop in 11 cities, including Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Indianapolis. Auditions in front of the judges, who are Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr., will be held in August in Philadelphia.

Back in May, Fox announced that the final season will begin this fall and end in spring 2016. “Idol” producer Megan Michaels says that she’s expecting a huge crowd in Pittsburgh.

“People from the entire Northeast will be here and Pittsburgh. And when we come to a new city it’s always fun because there’s tons of untapped talent,” Michaels tells WPXI-TV. “We’re really, really expecting great things from Pittsburgh.”

We already know that Pittsburgh can produce musical TV stars. Just look at Sydney Hutchko and Chris Jamison, just to name a few.
