Yinz Citizen Seeking Talent for Virtual Concert to Benefit 412 Food Rescue
After seeing huge success in raising funds last year, the virtual concert will return in September.
Are you a Pittsburgh musician looking for performance opportunities? Or a citizen just looking to contribute to the greater good of the local community?
The second annual Yinz Citizen concert is looking for local bands, singer-songwriters, hip-hop artists and other notable yinzers for a virtual music fundraiser on Sept. 16. All proceeds will benefit local nonprofit 412 Food Rescue.
Artists already confirmed to perform include Derek Woods Band, Swiss Army and INEZ. Any local musician interested in performing may apply using this talent entry form. Pittsburghers have the option to submit a song and message or a personal message only.
Last November, the Yinz Citizen concert raised more than $50,000 for 412 Food Rescue, which helps combat local food waste and hunger. Tickets are free, although donations are accepted.
“Our first Yinz Citizen concert was viewed 8,600 times within a week, and 4,300 people joined us live,” says Sara Swaney, 412 Food Rescue’s director of advancement.
