Pack your bags, Pittsburgh, because Breeze Airways has added four new low-fare nonstop destinations for your summer getaways.

Breeze announced Tuesday it will soon begin twice weekly nonstop flights from Pittsburgh International Airport to Long Island-Islip, New York; Jacksonville, Florida; Portland, Maine; and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.

The airline added flights to New Orleans earlier this month and will begin flights to Orange County, California, on March 31. Breeze will also resume service to Norfolk/Virginia Beach on May 18 and increase flights to Charleston, South Carolina and Providence, Rhode Island this spring.

Flights to Raleigh-Durham will begin May 18, while Islip and Jacksonville will both start on May 25. Service to Portland will commence on June 2.

Service to Islip, Jacksonville and Raleigh-Durham will be available on Sundays and Thursdays. Flights to Portland will operate on Mondays and Fridays.

Introductory pricing for the new flights includes standard Nice seating starting at $39 and extra-legroom Nicer seating for $79.

“These new routes mean that the Pittsburgh region will have even more nonstop options to travel this summer,” said Bryan Dietz, senior vice president, Air Service & Commercial Development at PIT in a Blue Sky News press release. 

“Here [in Pittsburgh], we grow again,” said Breeze Airways President Tom Doxey. “We always look for routes that people are traveling today but can’t get there nonstop.”

Breeze will become the second carrier to serve Jacksonville and Raleigh-Durham nonstop from PIT. Allegiant Air currently serves Jacksonville twice a week while American Airlines serves Raleigh-Durham with two daily flights.

Islip and Portland are two new markets from Pittsburgh. Portland was last served nonstop by United Airlines in 2021. Islip, meanwhile, will connect PIT to Long Island nonstop for the first time in more than 25 years.

Breeze began service to Pittsburgh in July 2021 and was one of the first 16 cities served by the airline founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman, who also started charter company Morris Air (later acquired by Southwest), WestJet, JetBlue Airways and Azul Brazilian Airlines.

Since its launch, Breeze has become one of the fastest-growing airlines in the U.S. and now serves 143 nonstop routes between 35 cities in 21 states. By this summer, Breeze will serve 10 total destinations nonstop from PIT, according to Blue Sky News.
