What's HE Doing Here? Pitt Fans Want to Know
When Penn State's head football coach is spotted at an iconic Oakland restaurant in the heart of Pitt's campus, twitter tongues start wagging.
The last time we recall Penn State University head football coach James Franklin being near the University of Pittsburgh campus was last September, when his Nittany Lions lost a nail biter to Pitt, 42-39 at Heinz Field.
His most recent visit here last Thursday didn't get nearly as much attention, nevertheless when you see Penn State's top football guru strolling the streets of Oakland, somebody is gonna notice.

As it turns out, Franklin and his offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead were in the Oakland area for more than just hot dogs. They were visiting Central Catholic High School offensive lineman C.J. Thorpe, a member of Penn State’s 2017 recruiting class, who tweeted that he will sign a letter of intent to join Franklin next season.

While Pitt and Penn State don't meet again until Sept. 9 at Beaver Stadium, Franklin's visit helped to get the trash talking off to an early start.
Really hope the O staff charged them $42.39 for whatever they got. https://t.co/KWNE1NvPvz
