While Bourdain and his crew aren’t talking, they left plenty of hints about what’s likely to be in the Pittsburgh episode of “Parts Unknown.”

Journalist Anthony Bourdain and his team spent more than a week in Pittsburgh shooting an episode of the CNN series “Parts Unknown.” The show is expected to air this fall.

Although the crew did not publicize their locations, it's also apparent they asked participants to keep quiet while they were here. The day after Bourdain and company left Pittsburgh, a number of photos appeared on Instagram.

Based on those posts and background interviews with participants, we were able to get a pretty good sense of what’s likely to be in the show:

  • Squirrel Hill Cafe (Squirrel Cage), where he ate hamburgers with novelist Stewart O’Nan. (We also believe the production films O’Nan reading later that evening, though we haven’t confirmed this.)

  • Grandma B’s, Dorian Moorefield's Hill District restaurant that specializes in hearty breakfasts and homestyle cooking

  • Teutonia Männerchor, a 150-year-old, 3,000-plus member private club on the North Side “with the purpose of furthering choral singing, German cultural traditions and good fellowship.”

  • A dinner at White Oak Farm, where he spoke with Justin Severino (Cure, Morcilla), Sonja J. Finn (Dinette, The Cafe Carnegie) and Maggie Meskey (Pork & Beans); Scott Smith, owner of East End Brewing posted this about the event here
  • A shoot in Braddock and a meal cooked by Kevin Sousa (Superior Motors); Bourdain also visited Hidy’s Cafe

  • Kelly’s Bar & Lounge in East Liberty

  • Gooski’s (apparently crew shot staged footage of a band there but did not shoot a scene with Bourdain)

  • Jozsa Corner, a boisterous Hungarian restaurant in Hazelwood, where he spoke with owner Alex Bodnar and Spoon Executive Chef Jamilka Borges

  • New Alexandria Lions Demolition Derby
