Combine old furniture, creativity and some love, and what do you get? Vintage 73.

The new business in the West End features high-quality furniture refurbished from run-down antique pieces.

A rescuer of furniture, owner/artist Beth Salak puts her heart, and a lot of paint, into each piece she revamps, making sure her work is beautiful, affordable and available to all who desire high-quality furniture.

Using pieces usually found at auctions or given to her, Salak assesses each item and puts it back together again.

In addition to vintage items, Vintage 73 sells pieces handmade by Salak or various local artists. Jewelry, plates and doll clothing are among other offerings that allow this store to carry a little bit of everything, says Patricia Kennedy Treloar, marketing assistant for Vintage 73.

“I am passionate about painting and supporting my community,"  Salak says in a press release. "Vintage 73 aligns these passions perfectly.”

Want to learn how Salak creates her unique furniture? Starting this fall, Vintage 73 will be offering painting workshops where Salak will show attendees her techniques.
