Waynesburg University offers new MBA concentration
Businesses must maximize their resources and outperform competitors in order to succeed in a tough economy. One way to stand out in the market is to hire cracker-jack project managers who will ensure that a job gets done well, on time and without undue risk. This fall Waynesburg University’s new Project Management concentration for MBA students will help to feed demand in industries from energy to health care. The 36-credit concentration will promote leadership and management training and prepare students to sit for the Project Management Professional certification.
Carnegie Mellon announces negotiation academy for top female talent
The Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business has created the Carnegie Mellon Leadership and Negotiation Academy for Women. A six-month intensive program from September 2014 to March 2015, the academy is the first of its kind to emphasize the importance of negotiation in developing the success of women in business. The six two-day sessions cover topics from leadership and authority to understanding power and influence networks.

This presentation of one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies — rife with mistaken identity and court intrigue — will benefit two local organizations. Make a cash or canned-good donation upon entering. Canned goods will go to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Cash donations go to the Kevin Dilworth Memorial Theatre and Dance Scholarship.

Walk the grounds from 7 to 8 p.m. to hear Music at Penn’s Woods Festival Orchestra musicians play selections from their spots “planted” in the outdoor rooms. Then return to the main lawn for a concert of brass music.

With Old Stone House Tavern chef Stan Malecki, learn to build an outdoor oven like those used in early American history. The oven will be used throughout the summer for other Old Stone House cooking classes.
