Watch: Uber Delivers Puppies and Smiles Throughout Downtown

Uber teamed with the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society for the first local offering of UberPUPPIES, a fundraiser and adoption drive previously seen in other Uber markets.

If you opened your Uber app between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday in the vicinity of Downtown, you may have noticed the opportunity to request something beyond a ride: A puppy delivery.

Uber teamed with the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society for the first local offering of UberPUPPIES, a fundraiser and adoption drive previously seen in other Uber markets. For a $30 donation, an Uber driver would deliver one or more adoptable pups (and a WPAHS volunteer) to your office for a 15-minute playdate.

The Pittsburgh Magazine office was visited by Alina and Alaina, a pair of 15-week-old catahoula mixes. The curious pups accepted a greeting line of cuddles from our staff before embarking on a spirited sniffing expedition around the office.

At the end of the day, anyone who wanted to adopt either Alina or Alaina or any of the other pups that roamed the city today, could submit an application on a first-come, first-serve basis at the WPAHS shelter.
