While Rosewood clothing boutique in Sewickley only shut its doors shortly before the New Year, a new — locally owned — ath-leisure store already is popping up in its place.

Urban Fit Co., which specializes in stylish athletic clothing that can take wearers from barre class to a dinner date with friends and everything in between, is set to open its flagship store on Beaver Street in March.

Owned by sisters Kate and KC Kaluhiokalani, Urban Fit Co. previously was an online-only boutique. Some of the premium active wear brands sold at the shop include Jala, Electric & Rose, Nux and Running Bare.

After five years in business, Rosewood closed in late December after owner Kathryn Richardson announced plans to travel abroad for a year with her husband and two young daughters.

The family currently is in Bali, and Richardson has created an instagram account, @darlingletstravel, for those interested in following along in their adventures.

And she’s not done with retail just yet. Since closing Rosewood, Richard says she intends to launch Isla Ford, a pajama line for kids that’s named after her oldest daughter.
