Renee Dupree has been collecting toys since the mid-1980s. When she moved into this South Side space in 1994, she was focused on making toys into art: Among her creations is the “Toyasaurus,” currently on display at Children’s Hospital. Dupree then decided to open a business, and Groovy! Pop Culture Emporium, a haven for lovers of kitschy and nostalgic goods, was born.
