Tour Some Grand Homes (and more) This Weekend

The 2016 Child Health Association of Sewickley Home Tour, the 25th Annual Historic South Side House Tour and the Pittsburgh Vintage Mixer all are set for this weekend.

No need to stand in the bushes trying to sneak a peek into the windows of six of our area’s most outstanding homes. On May 13 and 14, the Child Health Association of Sewickley will be rolling out the welcome mat for its 2016 Home Tour.

Dubbed “Opening Doors for 60 Years,” the self-guided tour includes historical and contemporary abodes, including one environmentally friendly “green house.”

Tickets are $60 each and include a full-color House Tour Catalog with photographs and information about each of the homes. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and your ticket is valid for both days.

“We didn’t want people to feel like they had to rush through,” says co-chair Sarah Kenny.

Founded in 1923, CHAOS has contributed more than $4 million to programs and organizations dedicated to helping children. The Home Tour is its biggest fundraiser. For tickets, visit, or buy them at Explore Sewickley during the event. You can also contact the event hotline at 412/741-2593 with questions. Parking is free.
