Howl-O-Ween Pawrade

Pups and their humans are welcome to wear costumes and strut through the Strip District. Led by the May Day Marching Band, the “paw”rade will depart The Dog Penn, located at 2614 Penn Ave., at 6 p.m. It’s free to march and there will be treats galore, along with a costume contest, tarot readings and reiki sessions. Dogs attending the party must upload vaccinations in The Dog Penn app and purchase a day pass.

Fall Flower Show: Alice’s Adventures in Autumn
Through Nov. 1 | Phipps Conservancy and Botanical Gardens

Alice in Wonderland-themed displays are on view for another couple of weeks at Phipps. Fall Flower Show: Alice’s Adventures in Autumn combines the whimsy of Phipps’ unique take of Lewis Carroll’s story with our stunning chrysanthemums — and a few spooky surprises. You’ll see all your favorite characters from the book among expertly grown chrysanthemums in an endless variety of shapes, colors and sizes. Phipps has been creating chrysanthemum-themed seasonal shows since 1894, making its Fall Flower Show the longest-running in the nation and a Pittsburgh tradition that you can’t experience anywhere else. Tickets are available online.

Día de los Muertos ofrenda

Pittsburghers can visit the Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, ofrenda at the Greer Cabaret Theater’s Kara Family Lobby Downtown to leave offerings of flowers, photographs, mementos and handwritten notes to loved ones who have passed. The lobby is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

The Final Hangout

The Plaza will be awarding prizes for the night’s best costumes
