When The Shop in East Liberty first opened in 2012, it didn’t have many neighbors.
Now, the surrounding area is booming, but owner Julia Reynolds says it’s time to move to an online-only operation with the same mission: selling handcrafted, quality work.
“We’re sad to leave, but at the same point we’re excited for the next phase,” Reynolds says, noting there were many reasons behind the decision.
The shop will continue online under the title Everything Ren (everythingren.com).
The brick-and-mortar store on North Highland Avenue, which offers jewelry, home décor items and art made in America — and some made locally — will close on March 31. All in-store merchandise will be 25 percent off until then.
“We don’t want to disappear forever,” Reynolds says. “We hope to do some pop ups, especially around holiday time.”
Reynolds also says she plans to offer a local delivery service from Everything Ren.
