The Celebrity Voices Who Welcome Visitors to PIT

You never know who you will hear on the tram ride from airside to landside at Pittsburgh International Airport.

The first task for incoming passengers at Pittsburgh International airport –– after wrestling with carry-on luggage –– is the minute-long tram ride from the airside to landside terminal.

Instead of an anonymous voice announcing that “this train is about to depart, please hold on,” travelers are welcomed by some of the most familiar voices of the region.

Among the newest tram announcers is WQED documentarian and Pittsburgh Magazine contributor Rick Sebak, who shared his recording session on YouTube.

Depending on the time of the year, you may hear Pirates manager Clint Hurdle, the voice of the Steelers and Pitt Panthers, Bill Hillgrove, or Riverlife CEO Vivien Li talking about Pittsburgh’s riverfronts and outdoor recreation. The airport has the current list of its “voices of Pittsburgh” on its website
