Tagalong with GetGo to Celebrate Teachers This Week
GetGo has partnered with The Education Partnership to distribute 5,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to local teachers.
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, GetGo Cafe and Market has bought $25,000 worth of Girl Scout cookies to distribute to local educators.
GetGo has also partnered with The Education Partnership, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit, to organize these 5,000 boxes so that schools are easily able to pick them up and get them into the hands of teachers.
“We are thrilled to again be able to support the Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania and celebrate our local teachers,” said GetGo Café Market Chief of Staff and Senior Director of Marketing Rug Phatak in a release. “These teachers are truly extraordinary people in our communities – from juggling multiple education models to figuring out how to safely welcome students back to the classroom, their hard work and dedication are the reason our children are continuing to learn and grow.”
In addition to celebrating teachers, this initiative also helps the Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA), who have been impacted by many restrictions on their traditional booths and cookie-selling spots due to COVID.
“The Girl Scout Cookie Program fuels the many adventures and confidence-building experiences of our Girl Scouts, and this donation from GetGo allows GSWPA to continue providing life-changing opportunities to local girls,” said GSWPA CEO Patricia Burkart.
