Short Notice: Lauryn Hill Coming to Pittsburgh Wednesday

It will be the singer's first Pittsburgh show in 17 years.

A surprise announcement Friday that singer/rapper Lauryn Hill will appear at the Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall in Munhall at 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 11.

"The agent just hit me up yesterday about it and asked if I wanted to do it. Worked really quick through it and today it's on sale," Promoter Brian Drusky told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Friday.

Hill is best known for being a member of the Fugees and for her solo album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” which earned her five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best New Artist. 

Her last Pittsburgh performance was at Star Lake Amphitheater in 1999.
