Sara Firestone & Burton Morris
September 2, 2007
Deborah and Nathan Firestone; Marvin and Benita Morris
Sara and Burton wed in the art-deco-style Urban Room at the Omni William Penn Hotel (530 William Penn Place, downtown; 412/281-7100, omnihotels.com). A ceremony in the round felt more intimate and added a dramatic, theatrical feel that appealed to the artist and the actress. Rabbi Stephen Listfield from Tree of Life Congregation officiated.
FLOWERS & WEDDING COORDINATION
Bob Sendall of All in Good Taste Productions (412/321-6869; allingoodtasteproductions.com) is an old friend of Burton’s. He helped plan the event and designed bouquets and centerpieces that had an organic, natural feel.

ON THE BRIDE
Burton has worked with designer Nicole Miller, and he arranged an appointment so that the bride-elect could select her dress at the designer’s studio in New York City. Nicole and her staff helped Sara select a strapless, silk shantung gown.
ON THE GROOM
Burton wore the same tux he wore to the Oscars in 2004, when he was lead artist for the event. It was purchased from Charles Spiegel for Men (5841 Forbes Ave., Squirrel Hill; 412/421-9311, charlesspiegel.com).
Sara and Burton celebrated their marriage with 330 guests in the grand ballroom of the Omni William Penn Hotel. The menu kept kosher for observant Morris and Firestone family members. Burton created a logo for the wedding in his signature artistic style that was carried through the event, from the invitations to the ketubah (Jewish marriage contract) to the reception. Even the favors were chocolate from Toffee Taboo with Morris’ logo imprinted on the label.
Fenoglietto’s (2549 Penn Ave., Strip District; 412/690-5150, ultimateweddingcakes.com) made a vanilla/chocolate-swirl kosher cake, which also incorporated the logo designed by Burton.
A three-piece klezmer band represented by Steven Vance (724/444-8400, stevenvance.com) serenaded during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and Maureen Budway and In the Mood later entertained the guests during a lively, lovely night of dancing and celebration.
