Elbony Baccus was keeping things simple when it came to transportation for her wedding on Sept. 4. Her fiancé’s cousin, Sabrina, agreed to drive her to the venue, Banquets Unlimited in Irwin, but, suddenly, they made a detour. When they pulled over, Elbony saw it: her fiancé, Ed Montgomery, had surprised her with a carriage, drawn by a stark white horse. “It was a total surprise on his part; I had no idea,” she says. “He’s full of surprises, so I shouldn’t have been so [shocked]. Just to see that white horse waiting for me was awesome.”

When Bonnie Sheetz was looking into limousine rentals for her Oct. 22 wedding to Brian Ottavian, she was disappointed by how everything looked the same. So, when she discovered Antique Coach Excursions and their vintage buses, it was a dream come true. Bonnie and Brian ended up renting a vintage 1960s bus, complete with windows along the roof, to transport their wedding party for their special day.

Christine McCormick didn’t want to feel cramped in a limousine on her wedding day on Oct. 8, and she remembered how much fun she had going to various events in party buses in high school and college. She and fiancé Nick Blazevich chose to rent a part bus from TDF Limousine that was large enough to accommodate 16 people, with plenty of room to move around. The passengers could choose the music, and the bus came prepared with pink champagne and Nick’s favorite brand of beer, Miller Lite.

Rebecca Kalla, originally from Squirrel Hill, always dreamed of a wedding at Phipps Conservatory, even when she and fiancé, Corey Bruce, were living in Chicago. For their destination wedding in Pittsburgh on Sept. 17, the couple used a trolley from Molly’s Trolleys to stick with their Pittsburgh theme and transport the entire wedding party around the city for photos. Then, for their guests, knowing many were attending from out of town, the couple also provided buses for transportation between the hotel and venue.
