July 29, 2006
James and Mary Thurner; Paul and Ida Mae Braddock
The Roman Catholic ceremony was held at St. Patrick-St. Stanislaus Catholic Church (57 21st St., Strip District; 412/471-4767).
The floral arrangements were created by the bride’s godmother, Judy Thurner, who is a freelance floral designer in Pittsburgh. The bridal bouquet consisted of white hydrangeas, while the attendants’ bouquets were cymbidium orchid.

ON THE BRIDE
For her big day, Becky chose an ivory halter gown accented by a fabric flower at left hip. (David’s Bridal, davidsbridal.com)
ON THE GROOM
Daniel wore a black, three-button, notch Tommy Hilfiger tuxedo with a champagne tie. (After Hours Formal Wear, afterhours.com)
For these Steelers’ fans, the ultimate reception location was Heinz Field. The celebration was held in the West Club Lounge. Clear glass vases filled with pink-tinted hydrangeas and pale-pink roses were surrounded by votives at the center of each table.
A round, three-tiered white cake with fresh strawberry and custard filling and ivory butter- cream icing was created by Signature Desserts (3360 Library Road, Castle Shannon; 412/882-9960, signaturedesserts.com). Each layer of the cake was adorned with a single rose to mimic the bridal gown, along with tiny icing teardrops. Atop the cake was an arrangement that coordinated with the attendants’ bouquets.
DJ Mike Mason (412/931-3395, djmikemason.com) chose a very diverse play list, ranging from polka and country to alternative and pop music. Becky and Dan had their first dance as husband and wife to "Beloved One" by Ben Harper.
