Peter’s Pub, where Pitt students have gathered for decades for drink specials and to watch sporting events, is closing its doors for good.
The owners announced in a Facebook post they have decided to retire.
“It is with heavy hearts, and tears in our eyes, that we announce our retirement,” the post reads. “… Deepest thanks to every single person that has walked through our doors since 1974. Without you our dreams could never be accomplished.”
The establishment also said it will serve half price food and drinks on its last day in business, Friday, May 25.
“We look forward to seeing everyone for one last hoorah,” the post reads.
College students took to Twitter to express their emotions:
Peter’s Pub, in our hearts forever. I hope the dancefloor in heaven is sticky.
