There’s a New Year’s Eve celebration for everyone — whether it’s playing board games in your pajamas or dressing up for a night on the town. For those looking to enjoy the last night of 2018 in a community celebration that has lasted for 25 years, Highmark’s First Night Pittsburgh has something for the whole family, including activities for the kids, live music, dance and the annual parade.
Organized by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, the festivities begin at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and stretch down 14 blocks of Downtown’s Cultural District.
The night ends with a bang at midnight with the rising of the “Future of Pittsburgh Ball” and a Zambelli fireworks show.
The $10 admission button gains you entry to all galleries, theaters and performances. Kids 5 and under are free. Reservations are required for some performances. Anyone looking to enhance their night can purchase the First Night Friend VIP Experience for $40, which adds benefits such as special parking access, theater seats and private lounges.
