Pirates Players Rescue Grounds Crew Swallowed by Tarp

Video of what some are calling the "Tarpnado" has gone viral.

Not to be outdone by the Steelers' James Harrison, who mows the practice field grass in between workouts, several Pittsburgh Pirates dropped their gloves Tuesday night to help the grounds crew when a wind-driven tarp got out of control. In the slow-mo video above, you can see the tarp swallow one of the grounds crew.

Andrew McCutchen, Sean Rodriguez and Gregory Polanco all ran onto the field to help. The three stayed there, in the pouring rain, until the tarp was finally anchored in place. You can watch the entire video, which has gone viral, below.

It was a particularly good night for Polanco, whose eighth-inning triple scored Rodriguez, giving the Pirates the go-ahead run in their 3-2 win over the Padres.
