Some dogs take a little time to warm up to new people. Mosey has apparently decided there’s no reason to wait.

This 3-year-old brindle beauty has been charming just about everyone she meets since arriving at Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh as a stray in mid-October. After spending months at HARP, Mosey is more than ready for the next—and hopefully final—chapter of her story: a home and family to call her own.

Mosey is a social butterfly through and through. She lights up when meeting new people and is always ready to make a new friend. She has enjoyed field trips, breaks from her kennel in the shelter’s administrative offices, and time in a foster home, giving her plenty of opportunities to show off the affectionate, adaptable dog she is outside of the shelter environment.

During a recent filming at the shelter, Mosey was completely in her element. She zoomed around, happily solicited pets and belly rubs, and showed off her playful side with a tennis ball. True to form, she spent the experience being her usual sweet, social self—and making plenty of new fans along the way.

Mosey is also working with HARP’s behavior team on leash reactivity. She’s making great progress with guidance and consistency, and her team has found that this behavior decreases significantly once she’s outside the shelter environment. In fact, most of her field trips have reported little to no reactivity.

To help Mosey and her future family start off on the right paw, adopters will meet with a member of HARP’s behavior team to review her training plan and receive support for a smooth transition home. Mosey would also prefer to be the only dog in the household, where she can have her people—and their attention—all to herself.

What Mosey wants most is pretty simple: people to love, a little fun, plenty of affection, and a place where she can finally settle in for good.

If you’re looking for a friendly, playful, people-loving companion with a huge heart and a personality that fills the room, Mosey may be your perfect match. After patiently waiting since October, this social girl is ready to stop making temporary friends and find her forever family.
